Another vote for reflective mulch here. but I've grown cherries in about 4-5 hrs. sun. And as someone mentioned, there are lots of other veggies that need much less sun- kale, mustard greens, lettuce, onions, salad burnet, parsley, bok choi, etc.

I have oversummered in this bed. It gets full morning sun (First Picture) and then the rest of the day looks like the second picture. The same bed gets very little sun before May - that's why there's nothing planted in it until yesterday when I put in some clones to oversummer.

Salt,

Do you usually start a second round of seeds for fall or clone? Sounds like you clone, but I wanted to ask which method you preferred since you're just a few hours north of me.

My thoughts as well. It will be good to know by circumstance. Embrace the experiment.
Starting another round of seed is also great...pots can be moved and adjusted to the
weather/sun exposure.
I'm far north but grow salads all summer with shade frames during our hot July/August.
(most give up and say it can't be done)

Starting from cutting ( cloning ) is much faster, IMO.
I have just done couple of them. In 3 weeks they are bigger than 6 week old seedlings from seed.
I will try some early fruiting one for the fall.
