Three way fun! SO MUCH variation in the F1's from this complex cross. Just beautiful striped tomatoes. Most of them tasted pretty good. A couple were pretty bland or soft textured though with the ark-worthy level of rain theywithstood, that's no

K 5-3 I'm carrying a few segregates forward, but mainly this one, because the taste was really there.

JL 4-2 Very nice GWR

FY 2-3

FY 2-5 The other one I'm carrying forward.  Very good GWR with a pink core

FY 2-2 Epic Colors, bland and soft though. Could get better at F2 or F3?

FY 2-1

FY 4-1 I'm definitly going to do a few F3's from this one, just to see what comes out

Beautiful fruits, and good to hear that some are very tasty as well. Do you have the space (and energy) to grow out as many as you'd like to stabilize?

Wow, what an amazing selection, they look so lovely. The GWR is gorgeous and I love the colour and pattern of FY 4-1, got real sparkle

Pretty close, I do about 500 plants a year of segregating hybrid lines. It's not as many as I'd like, but it's enough to feel OK making selections. I'm always open to extra help though.

Sweet!

They are so pretty.
I didn't know that a cross between an F1 and an OP was also called an "F1". I did a couple of this type of complex cross this year but ended up labelling the seeds "F2", because I know they'll be all over the map, not uniformly identical like the usual F1 hybrid.

Crosses between F2 and OP I also labelled F2.

Confusing... yes.

Good to hear you have lots of space for your growout.

FY 6-9 Good taste, low seed count

L 3-1 I call it the "Eye of Sauron". Unfortunately, taste is only a 5/10

L 1-17. Great stripes, good taste.

FY 6-16 Bicolor, mid season

L 3-2 Love the interior colors

My main problem with this line right now is culling down to just a few to carry forward, because I dig most of these. F3 seems to be a bit of a "sweet spot" in the complex cross growouts.

T17-4, T5-2, T18-3, T7-10
T 5-2 Pink/green stripes, ananas-noir type interior.
T 18-3 black, green stripe, OK+ taste.
T 17-10 Bicolor w/cool stripes, nice, bold, fruity taste - 7.5/10.

T3-2, T17-8, T6-6, T17-10
T 3-2 Bicolor, fruity, 7/10
T 17-8 Bicolor w/cool stripes, taste - 7.5/10.
T 6-6 Bicolor, didn't save any seeds.

T7-5, T7-3, T6-13, T7-7
Didn't save seeds from any of them. Good looks, but not tasty enough to save (at this point, with most of my crosses, if I can't see exceptional taste somewhere in the distance, I'm not saving them).

T 6-7, T 6-10, T 17-6, T 3-11
T 6-10 good taste
T 17-6 Nice acid gell, ok taste.

T 7-12 average taste. Didn't save seeds.

FY 7-9
Such pretty stripes. Productive, excellent taste a true 10/10. I gave it 3 stars in my notes.

FY 7-5 ugly outside, really pretty (blood red) inside. Taste 7/10

FY 7-11 and 7-10
FY 7-11 no save.
FY 7-10 black interior, good taste.

Best looks of the bunch, black interior, so so taste.

FY 3-3 - pretty, piraform. Great, "bright" taste. Good candidate.

All pretty average.

Rich and sweet.

'17 was very exciting! The taste was very consistently good, which is great when you're breeding for taste!

LPBCLS L 9-6 an int t8.5

LPBCLS L 9-22 an int! ok taste, but looks
LPBCLS L 9-34 very pretty, big, an, do some for sure

LPBCLS L 9-36 t7.5 but a 9 if it was stronger, big

LPBCLS T 24-10 green int t9.5, but small

LPBCLS T 24-15 EXCELLENT taste
