Central TN Gathering

Hello! I know we have a few folks, including Epatton, Bigcheef, and Tomatoguy in the central-ish Tennessee area.

Percy Priest lake is big, close, and has lil camp grills everwhere.

We just subscribed to Peaceful Pastures CSA and will be able to bring burgers and maybe a few chickens. Ive got about 16 tomato plants so far, but I know Ive got the smallest variety list of anyone on TV in TN.

Anyone interested? have at- Im thinking July.

Tomato Art Festival is August 11th, with an heirloom tasting at The Turnip Truck in E. Nashville http://www.theturniptruck.com/default.php
and tomato sillyness at other places like Bongo Java. For those who are slightly more south, I still favor the park, maybe early afternoon....?

Sounds cool! If it weren't so close to Tomatopalooza... I might consider a road
trip! The inlaws live in Ashville and my BIL is in Knoxville, so the kids could get
dropped off there on the way.....

Maybe next year!

North central Arkansas to central Tennessee didn't used to be such a long trip, but now that it costs $70.00 to fill my tank... Otherwise I'd check it out.

its approaching, anyone have any strong feelings? Turnip Truck to try others, park to share our own? I should have some Matts Wild and Clear Pink Early, but not nearly as many as Id like.

Went to Nashville's Tomatofest today; far more fest than tomato. A pleasant street carnival, the only actual tomatoes in view were about two blocks away from most of the fun and consisted of over-ripe Marianna's Peace, mis-labeled Cherokee Purples (probably Black Krim's - no cracking), some un-ripe Green Zebra's and un-labeled golden cat faced 10 - 12 ouncers. Lots of fun, but I'd sure like to see a real tomato oriented, actual tomato grower tasting and seed event in the area. Anyone in the Montgomery County area interested in a small get-together?
