I've grown and like Momotaro, but haven't tried it in an EB. Everyone raves about Matsu. I'd like to try it, so I'll hopefully come up with some seeds this coming winter.

Bulgarian Triumph might fit the bill too. It's a medium red that is compact.

Early Girl hybrid can be really good if your watering is good. Mountain Fresh grows pretty big tomatoes for me, but it is good. Big Beef is big to medium for me and pretty good.
Slightly smaller good red tomatoes, Matina and 4th of July. |

Hi Mark-
I've grown Early Girl in EarthBoxes before. It didn't crack much -- at least at the start of the season. I like EG's flavor. The only drawback was that it was quite bushy, but that might be solved with only one plant per box. I'm definitely cutting back on the number of varieties that I grow next year (or so I say now ![]() Hope your Matsu F9's turn out well! -GG |
