"Green Bags" for storing tomatoes?

While surfing around Amazon, I ran across the "Green Bags" and "Green Containers" and wondered about extending the shelf life of ripe or blushing tomatoes in them. Too late for me this year (except with grocery store tomatoes). Perhaps we could get a couple of extra weeks of usable garden tomatoes?

Has anyone tried this?

Great question. I am wondering the same, not only for tomatoes, but for some bulb, roots and corm storage. I do not have a root cellar and these things dry up too much over the winter stored in paper bags in my basement. I am not here to mist them as needed. I have ordered some for experimentation. I would like to hear others experiences.

I've used the green bags to store lettuce and other greens...it definitely helped extend the freshness! I would say I got an extra 4-5 days of storage with greens before they started to go soft and squishy.

I like rubbermaid's freshworks produce saver green products. You can reuse them and they keep lettuce, broccoli, fruit and tomatoes at least a week longer than normal bags or plastic storage containers. Pricey but sometimes you can find them on clearance at the big box stores.
