Nail polish remover has a combination of acetone with a light oil (as moisturizer).

Pressure washer did not work nor did acetone. I cleaned a couple of 3 gallon buckets, painted with Rustoleum and they came out passable. Perhaps with a 2nd coat the label will be almost invisible. Thanks for all the suggestions, I just want to be environmentally friendly and keep these buckets out of the landfill. Should anyone come up with a label removal solution that works please post.
