My garlic looks ok except for one variety that started scaping in Dec/Jan. It seems to have survived the snow that came in Feb. Not sure what I'll get out of it if anything. Pretty weird. Never seen that before but it is a variety I have never tried before
Metechi seems unsuitable for a mild wet winter. All other varieties are growing normally.

I lose some with yellow leaf tips, and some form of rot every year.

Anybody has experience with bulbil ?
I have planted like 100 of them, that i had, saved from last year.
They all came up and growing. Some of them are real tiny. I think it has to do with the size of bulbil.

Gardeneer, they should be ready to harvest around the same time as your regular garlic, or a bit earlier - watch for the greens flopping over like onions do. Often a week or two before my clove plantings are ready here.

First year is usually a "round" and when replanted next year produce divided bulbs. The size will increase every year until they reach full size.

Thanks, Bower.
Yeah, I have heard that bulbils become single clove, small garlic first year. .. so i will save some of them for the next planting season. Probably I have over 120 of them.
This year our winter did not get as cold as last. The lowest was around 25F.so hopefull my garlic cloves won,t separate too early,.
Hope you have a good crop.
