Machalong/mache
Trying this for the first time. I had the seed last year, but I found out too late it needs very cool temps to germinate.

When did you start the seeds?

I hope the mache germinates soon. I have the containers in the basement, it being 70 degrees outside, with 75 for tomorrow. I may have to put the containers into the fridge.

I tried the mache so many years ago I had to rummage for a memory of that, and more recently have seen it in my friend's greenhouse. Afaik it never gets very large, only about two inches tall, and one reason I didn't repeat. Taste similar to other brassicas, no reason I could figure for the name "corn salad".
Let me know how it turns out, Gary.... Maybe I'm remembering it wrong? |

I am still waiting for mine to germinate. The next couple of days will be cold, so... wo hoo!
