Thorburn's Terra-Cotta color genotype ?
I grow Thorborn’s terra cotta for the first time this summer. I am impressed by the mix of colors of this variety. It has orange color over green and a red blush in the center.
So is this a mix of green flesh (gf) and tangerine (t) ? Does it also have the bicolor (ry) gene causng the red streaks in the center (like in Berkely Tie Dye) ? Here are some pictures: First fruit, picked early (and previously tasted by a chicken !!): A more ripe fruit: |
