Cucumber plants wilting
Diva variety, and during the heat of the day the plants wilt like they need water real bad even though they dont. They perk back up when the sun goes down. County Fair on the other hand isnt wilting. I have no idea why. Any ideas?

This could be a symptom of the roots not taking up moisture even though it has plenty to take.
Nematodes maybe? Grub worms? It could also be the variety difference from one plant and the other. When plants get too hot they sometimes wilt to conserve moisture then perk back up as you said. Your temps of 92 don’t seem to be that hot though. At what temp do the plants start to wilt? Worth |

I hadnt thinned the plants even though they are a couple feet tall now, so I pulled a couple and saw no signs of rkn. I am happy about that and the plants look healthy other than the daytime wilting. Just have to wait and see I guess

Duane, if your plants are recovering at night, I wouldnt' worry much. Otherwise, do consider bacterial wilt, usually spread by cucumber beetles.

I just thought I would let you know that when it gets hot here,(100 Deg) my vine and okra plant leaves look like old green wet rags hanging from a mop handle.
Nothing you can d about it so with the RKN out of the way no worries. It’s just the plant protecting it’s self. Worth |
