Jet Star OP?
I seem to remember that Carolyn wrote that she had de-hybridized Jet Star (and also Supersonic). But I may not remember that correctly. Has anyone grown a properly de-hybidized Jet Star? I grew the F1 this season, and it has been quite impressive. Certainly no problem with the cost or availability of seeds or plants. More curious than anything. It would be interesting to grow OP and F1 side by side to see how they compare.
I've grown JS before, but not for many years. It has a small core, has nice medium sized fruits, mild tasting, little cracking, and makes a medium sized plant. One of my best this summer. I have three late planted tomatoes Galahad F1, a new version of Matsu Express, and Pervaya Lyubov that are also competing for top honors. |
