Moreton Hybrid (Harris Seeds)

I used to grow this one -- probably 40 years ago or so. Does anyone remember much about it? I seem to remember that it was good tasting, and didn't have a lot of cracking. (Not available this year from regular sources.)

In my early tomato growing days, I grew Moreton, Jet Star, Supersonic (the Harris Big Three!), also Parks Whopper and Better Boy as a set of scarlet red hybrids. I found Moreton and Jet Star as OK at best - liked Supersonic, Whopper and Better Boy much better for flavor. Then I tried Nepal (from Johnny's) and my conversion from hybrids to OPs started!

I grew it for a couple of years. It was similar to Early Girl in appearance, and taste was average. I think there are much better hybrids around now.
