Default Wisconsin 55 "resurrected strain " vs other all purpose medium re

I'm a home gardener in Central IL who only has room for about 12 tomato plants in a season. I usually grow 6 beefsteak (like SOTW, Prudens Purple, Indian Stripe etc.) and 6 all purpose slicer/canner (like Marglobe, Break o Day etc.). For 2023 I've been contemplating growing Wisconsin 55 for my all purpose canner (Supposed to be a "resurrected strain" from Johnnys ). Has anyone tried Wisconsin 55? How does it compare to other medium reds like Marglobe, Rutgers, Break o Day etc.? Yield and taste? Thanks!

North Central MN here.

Very impressed with the recent re-intro of WI-55.

Think Big Boy, but with improved uniformity.

I have to say I wasn't expecting much; my first experience with it wasn't worth writing home about.

I grew Break-O-Day and Wi55 last summer. My recollections are that B-O-D produced more total tomatoes (as in individual fruits), but total weight or volume probably belonged to WI55, and WI55 delivers fewer misshapen, oddball fruits.

I haven't grown Marglobe or Ruttgers at the same time as WI55, but have grown side-by-each with several others including Big Beef, Big Boy, Burbank Slicer and Ace55. It's as good as any of them, and better than some.

I'm a big fan.

It sounds like the reintroduction is a significant improvement over the other strains. Thanks for the responses!
