Grafting Dwarf Indeterminate Tomatoes, predictions?
Hey all,
Curious what the results be for grafting a fancy rootstock under a Dwarf Indeterminate tomatoes (dwarf varieties like Rosella Purple, Tasmanian Chocolate, Uluru Ochre, BrandyFred Dwarf, Maralinga, etc). I'm an experience grafter for fruit trees so thinking it'll be easy for me, but want to know if its even worth it or lose the dwarfing abilities on the scionwood part. I'm wondering if can get some more disease resistance, and less priority but would also be nice to have higher output of tomatoes (or a longer/later season), BUT still maintain dwarfing. Also which rootstock would you use? I may try it this year. Here are the varieties I see for sale: https://paramountseeds.com/collections/rootstock and here is a graft with disease resistance: https://extension.psu.edu/to-graft-or-not-to-graft Thanks!, Ari Last edited by persianninja; January 6, 2024 at 09:31 PM. |
