Fertilizer for Seedlings?
What kind of fertilizer, if any, do you all use on your seedlings. I'm going to start transplanting mine into individual pots this weekend, and thought I might give them a little boost in a week or two. Would a weak fish emulsion be OK, or is something else better? This is in regards to tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and basil.

I give mine a foliar spray with a weak seaweed solution or similar then again after transplanting. I then sprinkle a slow release - Osmocote, its called here in Oz, a few balls to each pot and that's about it.

We use Kelp (seaweed) Extract
Our choice is Bonine Sea-Green Kelp liquid Extract...one tablespoon per quart of water....usually a week after germination, then 4 weeks later.
Have no idea if it helps, but that's our system, and we're stickin' to it ! Noreaster |
