Yea Tatiana's doesn't know the other parent neither .. Her description:
"Bred by Tom Wagner, a tomato and potato breeder from WA, the founder of Tater Mater Seed, from a deliberate cross that involved Banana Legs variety. Tom Wagner named it in memory of his friend Mark Casady. Here is the information that was supplied by Tom Wagner along with the seeds: "I have a broad spectrum collection of fruit shapes and colors in my Casady's Folly lines. The stripes are more zig-zag than Green Zebra and they come in yellows, reds, greens, browns, and tri-colors. I think they would make a great addition to a catalog as a color/shape assortment." First introduced in the Seed Savers 2010 Yearbook by Amy Goldman of NY (NY GO A)." |

Here are some of the mystery tomatoes from last year. The seed was from Johnny's and was supposed to be Amish Paste. These dont look as much like Mikes tomato as I remember though. I think others were more elongated.

I agree. They do look kinda weird. There are at least five of them in this picture that look more like your pic.

I HONESTLY have never ever thought in my wildest dreams that there is such a wide variety of tomatoes.
Is it because they are so easy to cross breed? The technical term is "hybridize", but I prefer simple to-the-point terms. Are there other vegetables that are similar in variety? |

Stvrob, no grout - 30 or 60ml hdpe (high density polyethylene)... I'm cheap and use 30ml.. Plus it's easier to work with when you do it alone .. You can see the black roll of it at the back of the yard..
Worth, lol yea 2 1/2' is no fun but luckily I have wonderful soil... My entire block used to be an apple orchard.. Although I cheated this time and rented a trencher, but I think handling that 500 or so lb machine was no better lol.. Not to mention the 5 or so feet on each corner that the machine was too big to maneuver in.. I dug the property line barrier by hand a year or so ago; that took me about a week haha.. Only a few hours a night not to throw out the ol' back lol.. I'm only 29 but 12 years of taking boilers and oil tanks out of basements gets to ya pretty quickly.. |
