Ami,
I know that Gleckler Seedmen is in comparison with other seed vendors quite late. But when it goes in February or even in March it may be too late for this season. But this also is not such a huge problem, I just want to know what the status is. Carolyn, that doesn´t sound well. I found Ellie very friendly in the December mail and could not imagine why she did not write back in January. I hope nothing badly happened and the whole family is well. Perhaps you could write again if you hear something. Thank you both. Simone |

I had an email from Ellie on Jan. 17th. Earlier in the month they had been away on a family vacation. It did sound like they were quite busy in all areas of their life.

And I do find it a bit strange that the family would have gone on vacation at that time, knowing that the site needed to be updated for 2013 and knowing what I think to be many new varities and blurbs to be written for them. Just me wondering. And I do hope my cal lwent through, it said voice mail, and I heard Adam's voice, but then no please record at the sound, and hang up when you're through kind of message I usually get when calling someone. But there are all sorts of message taking programs, that I know. Carolyn Carolyn

Carolyn,
that´s all very weird, including the vacation. It´s good to have time with the family and reload the batteries, but i think there are more people than me who wanted at least the Summer Sunrise. Hopefully this all comes to a good end. Simone |

I sent them an e-mail. If I get a response I will let you know.

Hoping the best for them. I think they have a great selection of varieties. One of my favorites among family-owned seed businesses.

I completely understand taking a few days at that time of year to be away with the family. The needs of the family have to come first, particularly when you have children. Many schools have a winter break at that time. It's also the time of year when members of your extended family may have time off or be able to get time off. I can't begrudge them time with the people close to them just because I'd like some tomato seeds right now.
You should take every opportunity to spend time with the people you love; they can be gone in an instant. |

But as a seed vendor you should think just a LITTLE bit of your shop. And there would be no need to write abut when or if they open for 2013 if just a single and small note had been left in this thread. Simone |

Adam did call me back late this afternoon.
When he has time he'll try to post here, and expects to have the new varieties uploaded and the descriptions written by the beginning of next week, can't say which day. Carolyn

Giving up on them. Wish I had known when I placed my orders to other seed companies.

I like to buy seeds in midsummer for next year if I need
to buy seeds. (Then how busy the seed vendors are at harvest time or planting time is not an issue, nor are crop failures that are reported in winter after the harvest.) If a seed order fails in shipment, I find out about it and can remedy the situation long before it is time to start seeds.

It isn't that we can't order now, just not able to order new varieties for 2013, whatever they are. Most seed companies update their seed offerings in the fall or at least by the beginning of the year. If you aren't interested in the latest and greatest, your system works.
