The viroid that caused all the problems in Oz is already established in NZ; in fact truss tom import from NZ have been stopped I believe. There would be no reason to ban seed imports there.(even though the viroid has been found in some diverse locations in Oz they - AQIS - still put the clamps on here!)

Rainy, seed from Oz can leave but the problem may be at the destination.

That is a beast! Lucky Cross is new in my garden this year, and it is a long way off from ripe. Which other varieties are you growing Richard?

The tomatoes left to ripen are Royale des Qduineaux, Ruths Perfect,Pink Heart,Red Heart then in about three weeks Great White and then by the end of the season i`m planing to try and squeeze out Dizzy F3.
Hope you have all your disease problems behind you now LenaB,and we look forward to seeing photos from you.

Im hoping the problems are over too. Yesterday I had to pull out an Ananas Noir because of stem canker. I opened it up and saw strange pellet looking things inside the rotten part of the stem. No idea what it is, but I took a photo. The plant just flopped over from one day to the next, had a bunch of big green tomatoes on it already. Oh well, I have another 3 of that variety.
I got the last of my late sowing planted yesterday too, final count is 167.
Garlic was harvested on boxing day, its still dying outside. Think ill bring it inside today because of the rain warning.
First cucumber picked and eaten yesterday, and it tasted horrible. Not sure why. It was long (about 25cm) and very slender, Chinese Snake variety. Maybe I should have picked it earlier. Or later?

I was a bit keen posting that last photo, i didn`t know it wasn`t quite ripe, i had it sitting in the sun for a few days.

If you like sweet then I reccommend you try Purple Russian if you havent already. Great White was really sweet last year too, but I see you are already growing that. Personally I prefer the dark ones like Black Krim, but PR and GW are definite favourites. Lucky Cross will be a while away for me, it was in my late sowing.
Ive spent most of the day in my garden (after going shopping with my SO because we absolutely NEEDED a boxing bag) and there are just sooo many big green tomatoes everywhere. The first Yellow Plum cherry tom is showing a yellow blush, but thats it. Im very envious that you have ripe tomatoes already. We are going on a 3 week holiday to the Bay of Islands on Tuesday, so if any start to ripen before the end of Jan I wont even be there to watch
