Czech Bush Dwarf is one of my favorite dwarfs. In fact, I plan on using it in a few crosses this year.

Konig in German means King so it's also called King Humbert.

And yes, Manfred said they are not the same, but he doesn't say how or why in any detail.

Re Umberto tomato is very interesting, not only for its history, but also because it is one of four varieties used in Italy for long-term storage as Pienollo del Vesuvio (hanging in the room). Therefore, I want the Italian version, which may come directly from Vesuvius, where this variety is grown more than a hundred years. If I shall buy some tomatoes from the Kraft-Reinhardt, I shall also buy a German variant- König Humbert.

Yvette thank you.

Carolyn, please think of me, Carolyn, please think of me, I have about this tomato really extraordinary interest.

PS,:I also look at Australian Open. I fan our tenists, but I do not mind even if you lose. It's just a sport.

Your "tomato window" is looking beautiful! What a great construction to have such a bunch of tomatoes behind one single window! Needs to be copied!

There is only one Czech beefsteak tomato- BRUTUS (Giant size). I am growing two plants of Brutus this year. I will grow one this tomato like any other beefsteak tomato. On the second plant I had only two megablooms, other flowers I pruned. I will leave only two fruits, plant one stalk, missouri pruning.

Vladimir, Brutus was supposed to be grown for me for seed production last year, but it didn't happen and is being grown out this summer for seed production.

So just now I checked Tania's website and found three Brutuses;

http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Brutus_Magnus

http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Brutus_F1

http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/Brutus_Maximum

So I checked my original seed source and it was Andrey in Belarus and here's what he said about it;

Polish CV, indet, red ribbed, giant fruits 200 to 500 gms.

The one from Andrey that's being grown out this summer sounds like what you are growing, but what about 1 or two of the others from Slovakia/Morovoseeds? Or are we dealing with the former Czechkoslovakia and name changes? So was it a CV from Morovoseeds?

Thanks in advance since I know you'll have an answer.

Carolyn

Carolyn... I am growing one called Brutus Magnum. When I tried search on Tania's site this is what came up.

http://tatianastomatobase.com/w/inde...ecial%3ASearch

So are there 4 Brutuses?

No there are three. You did a different kind of search that led you to Delectation of Tomatoes, and if you clicked on that Brutus Magnum link under the whole list of varieties that Delectation offers it takes you right back to the page I linked to above for Brutus magnus.And that's b/c most places list it as Brutus Magnus, not as Brutus magnum. Compare what you linked to with what I linked to above for Brutus magnus and they are identical

I always do my searching at Tania's directly from what she lists, not by seed sites,as in shortcuts, then alphabetical and from there to the abc table.
