Oh, ok. I just thought there might be a new marconi pepper that I had not tried. I've got Golden, Red, and Purple going right now.

Burpee Alert: For those wanting to leave the room or shield their eyes.

The marconi was left over from last year and I've been practicing with it. I'm doing almost all hybrid bells this year, Walmart had some good looking Burpee hybrids seeds cheap. They've all germinated +95% except the Great Stuff(BigBertha), it's slow and 70%.

This is one of 2 trays of my seedlings :
Three (3) weeks from sowing.

There are few doubles. I will separate them shortly. They have been transferred from cells few days ago.

I've been a transplanting machine lately. I have 50 flats in the greenhouse, almost 2,500 plants. I'll probably hit 6,000 this year.

I'm trying to use at least a little discipline. For example, when I get a bag of seeds from a swap, I used to just dump the whole baggie in the cell. But now I look at the name, think about if anyone is going to buy that plant, and if it is one that won't sell, I only plant 3-5 seeds so I can get one good plant for my own garden.

For example, a name that sells plants is something like "Rebel Yell." A name that no one is going to buy a plant of is something like "Russian Green."

Some Russian names translate into a marketable name, like Pink Honey, Ton of Sugar, Sweet... for Children, Raspberry Enchanter, etc. Other Russian names are just as confusing even when translated.

I think you're right about name, that's a big part of why I'm featuring Rebel Yell and Paul Robeson in my garden. When you walk into Boulder's Taste of Tomato Contest, wearing your Tomatoville T-shirt and holding high a basket of Rebel Yell, it's game over.

Wow Cole! I haven't counted but I think total I may have 1k but tomatoes only around 600 or so. Between the ones I keep and friends/family that leaves about 400 to sell. I kinda wish I started more but things got crazy and just no time to do it all. I was just transplanting as well lol.

I set aside my spare bedroom as my transplanting room, instead of doing it at the greenhouse, so I can work after dark. Plus I'm out of the sun, and don't have to take as many breaks on hot days.

I feel like I constantly have perlite dust under my fingernails. Last night before bed I picked a piece of what looked like peat moss out of my ear.

Everything is getting a little sunburned in the greenhouse, but I don't care. It's supposed to be cloudy all week. I'm not going to sell any plants for a month or so. They will have time to grow out of the sun burn damage.

These plants sat in the dark for three weeks, but are coming out of it. My earliest tomato in previous years has been the first week of May. If the weather cooperates, maybe I can beat that this year.

Thanks , Worth .

Cole, BVV, you guys are workoholics.
Just kidding. I guess you are young and have a lot of energy and ambition. that is good to have some kind of passion.

Me, I will have a total of under 40 plants, out of 28 or so varieties. 30 in Rbeds and about 10 in pots. I have about 3 weeks until my spring training in the backyard.

OK, folks show (off) your pride, your seedlings.

Yeah I do mine at the kitchen table. Just put down a old sheet and grab a few plastic totes and get down. I normally keep mine on a rack in laundry room after for 2 days then move to the GH, but I have been debating pushing that to 24 hrs. Any suggestions?

My decisions like that are usually weather-based. If it is cold and cloudy outside, I don't mind delaying a day or two more before moving them to the greenhouse.
