I saved a few seeds, and will grow some more to see if I get the same thing this summer, grown in the ground."

I have to ask. If it is called Cherokee Green Grape, why would it be red?

Enquiring minds and all that, plus I'd really hate to miss something that has "incredible rich intense flavour!" (I'm not a big fan of GWR's because I cannot tell when they are ripe).

Too much ambiguity with green tomatoes, it would push me into therapy.

It was labeled Cherokee Green Grape, but it wasn't green and it wasn't shaped like a grape, so.....probably NOT. Crossed? Mislabeled? I'm also growing the seed from the swap again to see what I get.

I pick GWRs by feel, mostly. Sometimes there's a subtle color change, but more often the signal to pick is a change from rock hard to a little "give."

Habitat. Sorry for being so dense! I too have had varieties from the swap that were mislabelled. Last year I grew Yellow Pear instead of a variety that I really wanted to try, but that's the fun of the swap isn't it?

I hope that your delicious red (not green, not grape) will come true for you again this year .

Thanks for the hint about telling whey the GWR's are truly ripe .

I'm coming along with my seeds too. Doing them in batches. So far I only have one that I am having trouble germinating. Probably me.

I'm enjoying the heck out of seeing the different foliage on the seedlings that are up. I fell in love with the foliage of Crovarese. My oh my! So beautiful. Got 6 pretty seedlings going to town. : )

Ice Cherry - I found one leftover pack from the 2014/2015 swap. Any reviews?

An excellent germination shout-out to, Cherokee Green 2014 and Dester 2015, in the 2x3 ziplocks. 10/10

10/10 with just two varieties, and you only have room for about 30 plants in all?

Those are big, tangerine slicers. Very smooth, meaty and juicy. Midseason DTM about the same as Indian Stripe. from Ukraine.

Cherokee Green Grape was bred by Mark Korney, there is a page for it at Tania's,last offered by Remy at the Sample Seedshop in 2014 and all was well at that time.It makes sense that Remy offered them since Mark lives near Buffalo, not far from Remy and he would go to the tomato tasting that Remy or someone else used to put on,as I recall

I have been interacting with Mark here at Tville since he wanted a variety from me and asked if I ever grew out the Cherokee Green Grape seeds he sent me,said it won some kind of contest.

I told him I don't remember getting those seeds and then he told me he also sent them to a person I knew well, who is no longer a Tville member.

So somewhere between Mark breeding it,and Remy offering it,it seems that it's no longer what it should be..And if Remy offered it you know it had to be good.

He told me it was a cross he made between Cherokee Green and an unnamed bicolor cherry

That should clarify this situation.
