You're gonna dig this Elgin Pink cross with Anna Maria's Heart (putative), big, productive, healthy plant. Giving it a day or two before I attack. . I haven'tweighed it but it feels like 400 grams or thereabouts.

That EP X AMH cross looks great,and how could it be bad with those parents? Did you do the cross? What F gen is it?

I agree, Marsha, EP is one of the best tasting pinks. Never grew Anna Maria's Heart. I assume it is different than Anna Russian Heart.

Not intentional. I saved Elgin Pink seeds from 2 tomatoes. I grew them out and some kept coming up RL. The PLs grew true to type. At first I discarded the RLs then as I observed it was consistent, I grew out 8 plants.

Those F1s are RL and produce the tomato pictured, the shape of the tomato (during initial growth stages) and the census data point to Anna Maria's H, no other hearts were growing at the time and it was adjacent to the Elgin P. I'll be saving the F2s. Taste test forthcoming. If it's what I anticipate, I'll be growing out a lot of tomatoes from this cross, as you say, with such a lineage they can't be bad.

The F1 is stronger on the leaf diseases spectrum relative to AMH.

It was awesome. A favorite amongst all who sampled it. There's 2 plants still going strong.

S. Yabloko and Tyasheloves are making everyone happy at my house. Fat Jack is producing BIG FAT ONES, I can't wait to taste them.

Tuzemets has also shined.

At first glance no doubt they are frightening, I've been handling them so much I've lost fear and respect for them. Glove wearing is out the window, I do however, use goggles when cooking with them, as one decided to spray me as it was being cooked and it wasn't too much fun.

These superhots are definitely hot, nonetheless, to my fire forged buds they seem manageable.

The old plastic one is now a dedicated "sauce" container. They're dirt cheap down here. Glass is nice, pricier and a lot less disposable.

Two very different hearts IMO.

The above one is also in my tomato book.

But I find the two have very different tastes and Anna Russian also has that wispy droopy foliage,so it looks awful at first,but when it grows up it starts behaving like a good girl should. All to say I prefer Anna Russian over Anna Maria.

I've also grown Elgin Pink and another Elgin one ,can't remember the name right now.
