I love patty pan squash. I have not tried fermenting them, but I bet they are good. I did not grow any this year, but I think I will next year. I have a friend who pickles zucchini. They taste similar to regular pickles. Ginny |

Yes, I will send you my recipe soon. Lot's of recipes on the web that look and sound delish for red tomato bacon jam. You can sub black tomatoes in place of the red and I use a combination of maple syrup and brown sugar to sweeten it up. My jam tastes like a really good , thick, sweet and spicy barbecue sauce.

Rich Sweetness Melon's.. From the former Soviet Union. The fruit is red, striped with golden yellow..The small melons weigh up to 1/4 pound each. The flesh is white and very sweet and tasty. The fruit has a delightful aroma. Very aromatic..

The Serengeti French filet beans are still going strong. They made a comeback when I thought they were petering out a few weeks back. It keeps going and blooming. This bean is extremely productive as I have had at least five big pickings so far. We have had a lot of rain over the last few week's, with more rain in the forecast for this week. The leaves and beans are starting to get brown spots, so if it continues and spreads I will be pulling up the plants.

Our family came up for a visit and stayed with us over Labor Day weekend, and our grandson wanted to help me in the garden. He helped me pick green beans to go with our potatoes for dinner.. He is our little helper..
