I dont think I am going to plant anything else in the container.
From what I have read the darn things get bigger than the habanero, like up to 40 something inches tall.
Another site says 6 feet.

I sent my friend in Colorado a text telling him about them and he is excited.
The crazy kid will try anything I make.

Well I say kid I met him when he was 28 now he is in his 40's.
He is the one that put Dave's insanity sauce in my lunch one day behind my back.
So I made him eat his lunch with it in there too.

Then we doctored the regular Tabasco hot sauce with it to get someone else.

As anyone can tell I am really excited about these ghost pepper plants and want to keep them as all year long plants.
That shouldn't be a problem here.
Next, every time I look at the mortgage lifter plant is has more blooms forming and opening.
The thing is absolutely getting loaded with them.
The soil and container it is in is the same soil Fred the Orange Russian was in last year.
All I did was just mix in a goodly amount of Plant Tone and watered with Alaska fish fertilizer.

Didn't need the valve just lay the tube down and the water will drain out.
Here is an example of some big worms I put in the container.

Here you will see the feed tube how I use the conduit bender to support pipe when I cut it and the water level indicator working after I put a gallon of fish fertilizer down the feed tube.

I also planted bouquet dill in the center and Boston pickling cucumbers around the edges.
This will make a nice hot pickle container combo if it works.

With all of that sucking out of this thing it should be okay this summer.

Moved the Black Krim from its location out to the other side of the tub and put soil around the bottom where the drain holes are.
This will encourage the roots to grow into the surrounding soil.
It has become too shady there for tomato plants to grow and it only has one tomato on it.

If it doesn't start making more blooms in the new sunny location it is off my list.
Also putting my tea leaves and coffee grounds in the tub for the worms.

Very nice progress, Worth.
On the cucumber front,,, today I spotted a female flower for the first time. I I did the bees work and pollinated it.
Watermelons growing fast. The vines are about 18" long but no flowers yet.

Don't over water and don't over fertilize cucumbers, cantaloupes and watermelons or they will just make vines.
This is from a guy I knew that was close to 89 years old and between him and his wife grew I think 40 acres of watermelon and cantaloupe in Bend Texas.
He had 20 and she had 20 and every year they had a contest to see who grew the best melons.

Lamar Morris was his name and was a school mate of my fathers back in the 20's.
The man saw me on a Harley 25 years from when I was a little kid and knew who I was.

Worth, thanks for the tip and the story. I have not fertilized much, except putting some horse manure under the mulch.
how about fertilizing corn, beans, and okra ?

You have a rustic garden.I like that lantern too.

I dont think you can over do it on corn and okra unless you burn them both are high energy plants.
But I have heard too much nitrogen will make beans not bloom.
Never seen it in my garden.
Kerosene in those lanterns at night keep the skeeters away.

Got the driveway cleaned up, put away the tools planted homeless cactus by the mail box, put big cage up around the tomato plant, raked up more snail hide outs.
Scalped the yard by the street as low as I could get it and weed whacked.
One word of advice on the clay pot the cactus was in.
It is and was junk from Lowes DO NOT buy this junk no matter how tempted you may be.
It is not much more than an un-fired dried out clay pot.
Worst clay pottery product I have ever seen in my life.
They were making better pottery in 10,000 BC.

Here it a helpful tip when you buy these pots.
Hold the thing up by the hole in the bottom and tap it.
It it doesn't ring don't buy it, it has a crack in it or isn't fired properly and or poor clay.
If it breaks dont pay for it.

Thanks guy it is my Zen garden and a place of meditation for me no joke.

Yesterday I pulled up 4 okra plants by the roots and transplanted them in the tub.
One had almost nothing for roots when I planted it.
I like to fool around and see just what I can get away with when it comes to this sort of thing.
The agave had to be pruned because it is a nightmare to weed whack around.
The line gets caught up in it and sucks it up into the plant.

The one that is not the one putting up the flower stalk is what they make Sotol out of.
It has hacksaw blade leaves.
It is also known as desert spoon.
The plant has many usages.
Dasylirion wheeleri is the name.
