Show us your peppers

The orange peppers are mouth watering.... all the o. chudo's look om nom nom.



I didn't have much pepper ambition this year, and my results were even more modest but what the hey, I should show em I guess! Only a few plants survived and the aphids have been a plague, I'm still waiting for a ripe Guajillo but here are my few Jimmy Nardellos, distorted jalapenos, and a lovely Romanian to show on labor day weekend. Romanian is new to me, sweet and thick, I'm liking them a lot.

That's a nice spread of peppers!
Hate to admit it but my peppers did 10X better than my tomatoes, and I didn't have to spray them with anything...only organically fertilized them once...

That is awesome. Peppers have been pest free outdoors here when the weather is right, and nice foliage too. If or when it turns wet, then slugs and snails can be a hassle and they sure like to ruin peppers. But aphids and other little pests which are so attracted to peppers indoors or in a greenhouse, don't stand a chance in the 'real world'. I think peppers are super attractive to the beneficials that chow down those pests as well.
Tomatoes will always have the most problems of any crop. I think that's why this forum exists.

There is much truth in your words. Sometimes, the tomato growing process makes me want to pull out what little hair I have left...

4 Tabasco plants bunched too close together but still pumping out the peppers, what a pain to pick all these little peppers.

Overview of a flat full, Rocotillo, 7 Pot Primo Yellow, Mystery purple (a sport that was supposed to be a Red Bhut) with Aji Amarillo and Biqhihino, Peter Pepper and Pink Tiger.

Appears to be a NuMex Big Jim, only hotter..

Rajun, the way you planted them too close together looks like they would be easier to pick. Mine that I have grown 3 feet apart grew more like bushes, and a double-jointed wrist might have come in handy when picking them.

Tabasco is a beautiful plant full of different colors that lasts for months, and they make a sauce so good that they are used commercially. If anyone were to ask me about a 4-5' tall edible ornamental looking pepper - tabasco would be my answer.

Big Jim and Lumbre are 2 distinct varieties of Hatch chiles. Here's some brief info on them.
