Mona Lavender
This has been going gangbusters all summer. I have to put mine in partial sun as it cannot take my full sun.

Dwarf Poinciana
Also known as Peacock Flower, Barbados Pride. Grows very fast. Blooms and produces seed pods all summer. Mine are a yellow, orange and red combination. I have plenty of seeds if anyone is interested in them. Plants are very thorny! I found out the hard way! Best to grow in zones 9 to 10. Does not over winter well. Still considered a dwarf, plant will still grow over 10ft.

Blue plumbago bushes and the last canna of 2019
I've seen hummingbirds visit the blue plumbago a few times.

I have a butterfly vine (Mascagnia macroptera) blooming.
One of the most neglectable plants I have ever seen. No water from me all summer and still doing fine. |

The lowly 'Contender' bush bean....
On the other hand, this is what happens when one forgets to do a trim on fall mums before July 4th...Leggy City! BTW, it seems that every day there are different things foraging in these flowers. lately it's been a variety of skipper butterfly I've never seen. Yesterday there were no skippers but loads of some kind of bee I need to look up. I wonder what will be there today. |

The bush bean looks a lot like a fragrant sweet pea.

We've got asters and sedum. It's frozen enough to kill most other thing on top, though. Honeybees really like the asters, this year. I've seen them very active on sedum and Russian sage on some other years, but they like asters most this year.

Hibiscus Starry Wind
I took this picture a little while ago at dusk. This is a variety that remains small and I grow it in a pot on the front porch. I keep it looking nice all winter by bringing it inside if the temperature drops below 45 degrees. The plant can survive colder temperatures but I don't want the leaves to show any cold damage.

Thanks everyone for posting these beautiful pics of your flowers. I look out my windows and there is nothing green in sight. Winter came very early for us and I did not even get to get my daffodil bulbs into the ground. Your pictures warm my eyes and my soul.

The last week of October to mid November. I ordered the bulbs in August and they arrived the 3rd week of October. I do a big thing for the kids on Halloween and so they were on hold until that holiday was over. It snowed on Halloween and winter has been with us ever since. It is supposed to be nice this week which would allow me to plant but I am having cataracts removed tomorrow so no major chores or lifting allowed. Sigh...........
