Oh just another beauty pic for kicks and giggles. Interesting that it is such a consistent grower visually for so many. In so many different climates. I have four plants and all are producing similar. Over the past few weeks i'm getting 3-4 good size and picking firm ripe. They hold well on the counter all week. So many others ripen too fast.

Artisan's, (Fred Hempel), Maglia Rosa...another great tomato for my 'cherry bowl' collection.

How is the taste? Sweet, tart? Production?

Fortunately we like firm ripe tomatoes not at all soft. MRosa is at its best young and firm...a very fresh bright pink cherry well balanced fruity sweet with a citrus tang. Not at all the pop explosion i get from a SunGold. More subtle but most interesting is the clean clear finish of nice tomatoey flavor that lingers. Like GGWT it is holding well all week with SunGold, CubanYellow, ChocolateCherry for the cherries...and CherokeeChocolate for my larger fruits. Just about everything else i need to check daily for soft spots and freeze asap. used for winter salsa.
I've had a great tomato year despite low in production overall. All mentioned above are producing well above all others. MagliaRosa did flop to the ground rather quick and a bit wispy leafed. Just needs a better spot next year. Hand in hand with CubanYellow might be perfect as CY shoots up tall very fast before fruiting and also a delicate leaf plant. |

My latest GGWT. Very delicious. I have several more on the vine ripening. Hoping they don't get attacked by stink bugs or squirrels. My son is in love with this tomato. Says he finds the taste smokey and earthy. I'm currently trying to save seeds from it.

Another one eaten today, wonderful taste. That particular individual was picked early, due to some bad cracking and BER, but that didn't hamper the flavor. Like a tropical fruit, not too 'tomato-ey'..lol
Or course now that's it's the end of the season, the plant has decided to start pumping out some more little green fruits and flowers.. |

I'm still waiting for mine to finish ripening. I keep hearing it tastes much like PBTD.

Still one of my best providers in taste and production. Right up there with my saved seed plants of CherokeeChocolate. This one deserved home baked bread. BLT, avocado cream...(we don't have or use a toaster so i just broil/toast one side so the un-toasted side is soft and soakes up all the juice and condiment, yum)
