I didn't realize your garden was "that" shady, Worth. I suggest you grow broccoli (though I don't remember seeing it in your menus.
I had a few empty 5 gal buckets in the shade so I plunked my excess transplants in, forgot I had done that, and had great broccoli towards the fall. Maybe now is the time for you to plant for fall, or at least start some seeds. Fall vegie transplants have become almost impossible to find here. All you see are sickly ones that were in the 4 pack all summer. Have you tried fall cabbage? - Lisa |

I like the rustic look too. It took me forever to find the lantern you mentioned. It's like the Worth Garden version of finding Waldo. - Lisa |

There is a big tree limb i need tp cut out that is over power line.
I have been begging the city to go it but thy wont. That is where the shade is coming from. It gets sun in the morning and afternoon. I like broccoli but never buy it. I dont get the rustic look. To me that is a bunch of old unpainted boards. |

Just about to reinstall the drip system in the okra.
This morning I watered before I went to work and yest. erday I watered three times. This evening I will water again. I have held back on watering to keep the snails and slugs down. I also have another one of those big tubs and will plant something in it and set it in line with the others. Worth Last edited by Worth1; May 8, 2017 at 06:38 PM. |

Come to find out I had two 40 gallon tubs.
One I won't use as I need it to mix concrete in. The one I did use is ready for planting something in. Right now I don't have any idea. Maybe watermelon and more cucumbers. With okra growing in the middle. Mortgage Lifter progress. Worth IMG_20170509_9285.jpg IMG_20170509_35786.jpg IMG_20170509_48197.jpg |

Raking all of the leaves, letting the soil dry out at night in the beds, not watering anything around the beds and the Bug-Geta has really put a damper on Snailtropolis and neighboring Slugville.
Without doing this I wouldn't have anything in the garden beds. As a matter of fact I have the whole sprinkler system shut off. Worth |

I am also growing Honeydew melons. Sweet melons are my favorite. The corn is growing tassel. My okras (some of them ) have some kind of disease or maybe wind damage to big leave.

I came home to the Boston pickling sprouting and a colorful stink bug maybe in the yard. The four transplants of okra are doing fine. People would gasp out how I did it. Worth IMG_20170510_58132.jpg IMG_20170510_13334.jpg |

Tired of editing. I have never seen a bug like that in my life and I didn't kill it. Looks like an art deco bug. Worth |
