Too many professionals in that biz now. You couldn't make a buck.

I'm starting to equate professional with vulture for some reason.

I have had so many letters from people wanting to buy my gas rights on property in New Mexico.
I'm not an idiot they have to pay me to renew the lease and if they ever drill and they hit anything I will be &*&^ing in tall cotton.
If not I have nothing to lose.
Yes I am all for fracking.

Did you buy the land in New Mexico from a magazine? My fil did along with Walter Drake plates, stamps, foreign coins as a hobby/investment. I wonder if they kept up the taxes or if his wife thought it was worthless after he died.

It was inherited through my wife's family some how it is just a wee bit of the mineral rights.
I have no idea who owns the land but I own part of what is under it.
Had it since forever.

This was my view from today and yesterday.
Town lake Austin.
I refuse to call it Ladybird Johnson lake.
Nothing against her but it was town lake forever.

Sometimes when we're out looking over the country I try to visualize what these places were like a hundred years ago. Wonder if Austin was a great place to be back then? Prolly lot of interesting history with that area too. Jimbo.

Austin was big time cool years ago it even had street cars.
What would be considered downtown now there was a world war one biplane training field.
It is down by St Edwards university on congress.
Put a fire alarm in one of the old buildings there to.
Threadgills used to be a bar outside town now it is in the central part of town almost.
Janice Joplin sang there.
None of the people I know or work with know this place the way it used to be when I was a kid.

My little brother went to Studwards. (Heck, he may have given it its moniker.)

Does anyone remember the Armadillo World Headquarters?

Dirty Martins is just about the last of the old school places but there are a few left.
They took down my favorite bar The Austin Out House the only biker friendly bar in town just about at that time.
The wouldn't let you park your Harley in the parking lot but you could roll it up to the front door or even inside.
They were just about the only bar that would even let us dirty greasy bikers in.
Beer by the bucket full and live music.
It was close tor Dirtys.
When Nancy was ticked at me I would get on the putt and go there to have a few and hang out with my own kind.
Maybe even burn one in the parking lot.
I lived on 49th and Ave G right up the street in an old run down house for $200 a month.
Hell man this is bringing tears to my eyes.
Those were the good old days for sure.

Here's Herman the German in the early 90's at the outhouse.
The place is a frigging legend.
I loved the Outhouse.

Been to the Outhouse. I know Andrew's Antone's moved down to 6th St. but they seemed to have gotten the whole "ambiance" wrong. Is it still there?

I have no idea if it is or not I avoid 6th unless I am working there, the pace is a frigging mad house.
