Yay! Picked our first Maglia Rosa tomatoes for the year today. I think I have about 15 plants.

15 plants is more than we usually have of Maglia Rosa. But chef Keisuke Akabori at Stonemill Matcha is a fan.

My Maglia Rosa produced all season too. I would not call it a determinate.

Need collective intelligence on what is happening with my MG seedlings. They have been growing very well (two about 2" tall and one is 5" tall. The 2 smaller plants drooped overnight and the leaves (all but the top) fell off. The taller one has lost 3 leaves that fell off but otherwise looks healthy. They are just about ready to be put into pots.

What is recommend for transplanting into their final home pot? Should the stems be buried deep like other tomatoes? When to water and fertilize? This is my first time with MG and hoping for success and a bountiful crop.

Yes. They are tomatoes, so need to be planted deep so that roots can form along the stem. Do remember that the leaves are very droopy (like hearts), so don't go overwatering them just because they look thirsty, but give them the same amount of water as the other varieties.

I potted-up a Maglia Rosa into a large OJ carton just the other day. (Started seeds in mid-Feb, and hope for some ripe maters by mid-June, if I'm lucky!). The final container will be a 3-gallon pot.

Agree with Lab2.

I planted my MG R seedlings deep each time I up-potted them without trouble. They are a bit droopy.

They recommend growing in a hanging basket, but I think that might be a bit small. I like to give my Maglia Rosa's more room than that, and use 3 gallon containers.

sweet Shrinkwrap. I was so excited to see a volunteer in my greenhouse from the same spot as last year and couldn't think what it was until this thread popped up. Nice tomato. mine still green but soon....
