Camellia sas. 'Yuletide'. It's in a 3 gallon bucket on the porch after I bought it at a plant sale. It'll probably stay there until it finishes blooming and then I'll plant it out.

Camellia sas. 'Stephanie Golden' is blooming now. A ton of buds too!

It looks like there are still a few skipper butterflies still out and about. I hope this one found a warm place to sleep last night. Frost was so heavy this morning that it looked like it had snowed.

Someone needs to turn on the heat and sun here. Even though the sun is shining, it isn't intense this year. I wonder if there is a haze from harvesting grains is filtering the rays.

I have no blooming photos to share, everything is done but a few weeds were still bright green under the leaves that I raked aside yesterday. A good frost here (in the appropriate season, we are expecting a snowstorm tomorrow) usually damages the buds of flower/shrubs and fruit trees.
What conditions does it take to damage buds in warmer climates?

The other day I smelled something sweet and thought someone's clothes dryer was running with dryer sheets in it.
Low and behold is was my loquat trees.
Lots of bees buzzing it too.

I like loquat fruit.

Today I found these at Home Depot. The red you can find everywhere, but it's harder to find the other colors. These were very inexpensive so I picked up a pink and white. They stay outside year round unless there's a danger of cold damage.

Bought several nursery plants for winter color. These will bloom all winter long into the spring and they will not freeze. I saw many bees on the pink and white dianthus.

One of the many reasons I love carnations, the bees up here like them as well as being pretty Those are nice looking, wish stuff would live through winter here.

Beautiful pics, Spooky and happy bees! Sometimes I wish we could grow things like that all winter but then I'm kind of glad I get a break from gardening. By the end of November I'm kind of burned out.

Recently picked up some Zerachrysum daisies as potted colour. They can be grown from cutting and should self propergate from seed
