In my experience sand on ice is more effective than salt for increasing traction. Salt is intended to melt the ice, not make it safer to drive on. Down here ice is short-lived so what's the point? Btw, salt does severe long-term damage to the roadway, too.

Apparently my package liked MO so much, it went all the way back there after traveling to PA. At this rate, it'll probably arrive in MA by way of CA...

This frog went to work with me today in the back of the truck.
It was in some old floor mats.
I watered it all day and now he is back home under the big pepper plant.
