I walked around and snapped a few pics of the fruit trees today.
Japanese Plum is in full bloom, it should be a great year.

I call this the Charlie Brown orange tree, it's about 7" tall but puts on so much fruit the branches sag.

Kumquats starting to change color

This has been a good year for Persimmons

The other orange tree is lagging behind.

This was a small round Kumquat tree I planted 2 years ago but the freeze last year killed it or I thought. I think this is the root stock growing and it's making fruit. You can see a Kumquat to the left of the flower hiding behind the leaves. I'll have to do a taste test to check the flavor, if it taste bad then I'll graft a blood orange branch on it.

Rajun,

I used to stop at a road side orchard between Morgan City and Houma. The owner would park his van beside the highway in the fall and set stacks of five gallon buckets outside his van. It was a pick your own Satsuma orchard. Five bucks for a five gallon bucket of Satsumas. I looked forward to a bucket of those things every year. I wish I could grow citrus in north Texas. We usually have a couple of hard freezes every winter and they would kill any citrus trees.

What do people use qumquats for. I see them in the grocery store every fall around Christmas. I tried eating a few and they didn't taste very good to me. I've seen them pickled, but I haven't eaten one.

Wow so nice to see trees loaded with fruit.

Gerardo your tidal pools are exquisite... reminds me I haven't been to the beach for eons, and I need to go soon to look for kelp.

We just eat them like candy. There's different types of Kumquats, some are sweeter than others. Worth is right about eating the skin too, most of them are bitter but the skin is the sweetest part.

I think this is a 'Fukushu' tree, they usually get about as big as a golfball and last on the tree till late spring. I snack on them when I mow grass, every time I ride by the tree I have to snag a few.

Does the Sig have a removable barrel? I like the design, but I would want the option to replace the short barrel with a long barrel for different uses. The top of the photo is kinda fuzzy and I can't tell if it has a place to mount a scope if wanted.

Yep has a top rail to mount anything you want.
I doubt the barrel comes off that easy and it is classified as a pistol.
Pricey too.

Belongs to my neighbor lady's 60 some odd year old retired son from the rail road.

Reminds me of the HK MP7.

No doubt better than the spray and pray types like those old MAC-10/11 or the Skorpions.
