I got my seeds Friday
I was so excited to get the seeds and was so bummed I couldn't report in (and look them up on Tatiana's Tomatobase) right away. I had a bad computer meltdown Friday (my system disk and motherboard died) and have been computer-less until this evening. I just hate being without a computer! ARG! I am really happy with the varieties I have looked up so far - I got some really neat ones I am looking forward to trying. Thanks everyone for your cool seeds, and especially to Heather for organizing this whole thing.

Wow!!! Got the seeds, and they're amazing. I was especially thrilled to find some of the more unusual ones on my wish list ... plus some varieties that had sounded good and I'd considered adding but didn't even write down, lol. Thank you so much, Heather! And thanks also to everyone who shared these wonderful seeds.

Here is my dilemma now, I have so many varieties, I won't possibly be able to plant even one of each !! In the scramble to get on board with the seed swap I spent countless hours researching which varieties to request. Being fairly new to the world of heirlooms and seed saving the huge amount of info out there gets to be mind boggling, especially when one is easily boggled in the first place, . So once I got my package and requests mailed to heather, I took a nice break from thinking about tomatoes. When I recieved my package back with all the goodies, I spent 2 days once again researching maters, and realized I didn't request about 20 varieties that I really must have. Soooo, I went on line and bought them, and found more must haves, some that I had never looked at before, from several of the vendors that are fellow T-villers. I am now the proud owner of close to a hundered varieties, counting the ones I already had. My wife said she thinks I need help, not quite sure how she meant that !!!

Kennyj, LOL Welcome to the wild world of heirloom seeds! The wonderful thing is, tomato seeds last a number of years if you store them in a cool dry place so those you cut from your 2012 list have a shot on 2013. I have way, way too many varieties to fit in my yard, but I'm still trying to see which varieties I like the best and which are outstanding performers in my area. I suspect this will be a lifelong effort, favorites subject to change each year!
BTW, Smartpots and other containers make wonderful garden space extenders, especially if some of the varieties you have are compact, dwarf or determinate ones - you may be able to fit quite a few more plants in here and there. Some of the stockier ones would look fine in a flower bed with an understated support...you will find ways to fit more in per year than you think. I have 12 growing on my bedroom balcony right now, in addition to a number in pots on the back patio. I'm eying a spot in the front yard for next year - I think maybe I can tuck a half dozen or so between the strawberry guavas .

Wow! What a surprise. I received my seeds today and it is just so much more than I could have ever expected. Of the sixteen tomato varieties I requested I received ten of them! Plus I received so many different bonus seeds. Its just mind blowing. Thankyou so much Heather, and a special thanks to all you Tomatovillians for sending in such a great variety of seeds. Heather are you able to send a special thanks to Smokemaster (must be from a pepper board) for the great variety of bonus seed that he donated. It was very much appreciated. I am one very happy Filthy! Merry Christmas everyone.

Thanks for the updates everyone. I'm so glad you're happy with the seeds. I'll be sure to pass along your thanks to Smokemaster. He has quite an amazing collection of pepper seeds.
I managed to get a few more envelopes out this morning. At this point I have to turn my attention back to last minute prep for my workshop this morning. Sorry for the delay in getting these out everyone. This is taking me a bit longer than I had hoped as I've had a number of very late nights for work. I'm running workshops the remainder of this week as well, and tend to get home shortly before midnight, so thanks for your patience. Am striving to get the remaining envelopes out by this weekend. Thanks....Heather |

Plus, the longer it takes for the package to get to me, the less seed I order before Christmas when I should be saving my money for Christmas presents for other people!
So, thank you Heather, for helping me with my Christmas shopping - in a round about way! cheers, Nicky |

Just wanted to let you know my package arrived yesterday. Unfortunately I'm out of town on business, so I haven't gotten to see what goodies I got!

Heather, my seeds arrived safe and sound, and I wanted to thank you. Been under the weather for a few days and sleeping an awful lot so this is my first chance to post at TV. Thanks again from the heart, for doing this for all of us! Next year I will hopefully have a few more rare tomato seeds to trade . Thanks again!
