Thanks! I love it. I had a tiny wood and plastic one for about twelve years and finally was able to get a bigger one. It'd still not very big but pure luxury compared to the old one

Thanks guys, I love it. It's only 8.5 x8.5 and has an 8' ceiling. (but I can get what I need in there and I could get lots more in if I wanted to) I use a greenhouse for starting plants early in spring then for peppers and a few things like basil and English cukes,a couple of tomatoes stay in there for the summer once the main bunch of seedlings move outside.
the model is called a "green giant" RION greenhouse. twin wall polycarbonate with a PVC frame on a soil base.

For better or worse, all the tomatoes were planted out yesterday except for the dwarfs. I had to trench most of them because they had gotten too tall from their extended stay in the over crowded mini greenhouse. We do have a few cool nights coming up, but nothing below 45F.

I think I'm going to wait and put he Dwarfs out into grow bags next weekend when the nighttime lows are supposed to move up into the 50's.

*knocking wood*

Looks like I called it right this year. The tomatoes that were put in the ground a few weeks ago are gaining size, and since the cooler evenings were rainy, we have not had any frost. The ten day now is looking great so the last few tomatoes and all the basil are going in the ground today. Then its sit back, water and wait!

My first fruits are forming, in Mohamed and a mystery bush. Already potted a few into their final dwelling places. Next week looks all warm, so no need to bring any plant indoors for the night any more.. hooray what a relief!!

It got a little cool last night. But I had it covered with six mil plastic and rope lights. Although it was 36*f in the garden, my tomatoes enjoyed a balmy 48* under their protection.

I just took some pics in the high tunnel, before I started hoeing the weeds.

First, this was at planting about a month ago: http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps7b7a57f2.jpg

Biggest leaf I've ever seen. It looks like a jungle fern:

Six plants at the end of this row are Jet Star. They are noticeably more compact than Big Beef. I may not grow Jet Star in the high tunnel again, but they are my grandparents favorite variety, so I wanted to try a few: http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps7811931b.jpg

Jet Star in the middle, Big Beef on outside rows:

I scraped up the black earth around the hay feeders in our cow field to amend the soil. 3/4 of the high tunnel took off and grew like crazy, the other 1/4 kept getting damping off. I may have gotten the manure a little too rich, or that ground is too low, or both. I finally have some smaller plants growing in the problem spots.

As far as the plants that have wanted to grow, they have grown as fast as any I have ever seen. They are just now starting to bloom and set fruit.

One week after the latest freeze in our county's history we are fighting sunscald, overheating, windburn and persistent drought. This afternoon I am turning on the sprinklers so that seeds in the ground will have a little moisture to germinate. I know, I know overhead watering is a bad deal, but everything needs the water.
