Remy, I just placed my order I loved buying from you last season I just had to buy something this season!

I have a question I ordered sweet meat squash, this is my second year trying to grow winter squash last year I failed miserably sowing directly in ground around May-June are there any tips you can share. Should I start the seeds indoors and plant out when the weather turns warm?

Melissa,
I start squash, beans, etc. in small pots outside. I have them up on racks so the dogs don't get them, but any sunny spot where they won't get disturbed will do. I seed them once the weather is turning warmer in May. They pop up good that way, and once they have true leaves, you can transplant them to the garden on a nice day. You don't want them to get more than a couple sets of true leaves before planting out. They will get stunted and not grow as good if you leave them for too long in the pots.

I just need to post my deepest condolences I had no idea and I am sorry I had not noticed you were facing a loss in your family. Yet, you went out of your way to fulfill my order who does that. I made an impulse buy without reading that you were on vacation and you went out of your way with all you are facing to still fulfill my order, and answer a question..

Raindrops,
I did go slower when she was very ill as I took care of her, and I knew there was no way to keep a fast pace, but it helped to do orders when I could to keep my mind off of things.
I am very much enjoying being on vacation, visiting my dad, collecting seeds, and I'm going to go visit TV member Ginger!

Update: 100% germination rate on all tomato seeds. I'm impressed. I failed with the daisies though, huge bummer, I gave them damp off. No saving them.

I'm going to a garden swap tomorrow, doing orders on Monday, and on Tuesday, I'll be planting beans at Arden Farms, no not tomatoes. lol, but beans need space!
So I'm happy for this as I will be harvesting a lot more which means I won't run out so quick!

I'm starting rainbow cherry tomato gardens for my students next year. I'm going to do a couple of small gardens like this and if it catches on with the kids then we will save seed and expand it. I purchased some seed from Remy and the customer service was outstanding. I think I purchased the seeds and then it was like they were in my mailbox the next day. Kind of like magic!
