Default Passiflora "Inspiration"

The vine is covered in these almost alien looking blooms.

Every time I plant one of these the darn Fritillary butterfly caterpillars eat it to the ground.

I've always wanted to grow the passion flower ( Passiflora) but the genus is so large I have no idea which species to look for. The "Inspiration" is gorgeous but I am looking for one which will grow well in my area of North Texas producing beautiful blooms with a pleasant odor and edible fruit.

I'm pretty sure passiflora caerulea produces fruits. I get some fruits with my inspiration but I help the plant out by applying pollen to the stigmas with a small brush.
