There are many acronyms and initialisms used by tomato growers. This thread: A glossary of commonly used tomato culture abbreviations has most of them. http://www.tomatoville.com/showthrea...hlight=acronym Norval |

Hello Norval,
Thank you for the guidance. I need a lot of it. Learning the ropes is important because only when I have learnt them I'll be able to benefit from all the lore that is here. One that I like best: SWMBO = she who must be obeyed = DW Milan HP |

I sent more than two thousand seeds of Start F1 to Canada on Friday. RJGlew offered to divide them into bags and distribute them both in Canada and the USA. I just need everyone who is interested to send me their address (if they haven't already sent it to me), and I'll give it to Robert.

I am currently registering 31 applications for sending Start F1 tomato seeds from Facebook and Toamtoville. Almost two thirds of the applications are from the American continent (Canada and the USA). R.J. Glew from Calgary, who offered to cooperate, would send them there. Today I will send him your postal addresses, the seeds are already on their way to Canada. I send seeds in Europe, or elsewhere. I am sending seeds elsewhere in Europe. The event does not end here, we have enough seeds and we will be happy to send them to anyone else.

Vladimir, it's catching on. You're doing a great job. I really am curious about how they'll do in various climates and conditions.
Thank you. Milan HP |

Thank you so much, Robert. I would probably have a hard time doing it without you.

Hi Vladimir,
I have sent you message about Start S F1, but I thought I would also ask this question here, as others might be interested. Is Start S F1 indeterminate? How does Start S F1 do for you with foliage fungal disease? I hope your plants in 2021 do great! |

Maturity: midseason Growth habit: indet. Leaf type: regular Fruit color: red Fruit shape: round, oblate Fruit size: medium Fruit type: canner, slicer Variety type: hybrid, commercial Country: Czech Republic Tomatobase has a series of excellent pictures which Vladimir posted here a few years ago. The picture titled "Vladimir Gross. Start F1 – ripening fruits. 2014-07-28" is the most representative of what I see here in Zone 3a where it does very well. I would actually call it Early, for me ripening about a week after Burpee's Fourth of July F1 and their Early Treat F1. Start has bigger fruit, and is much, much more flavourful that either of those two. Last edited by RJGlew; February 6, 2021 at 04:08 AM. |
