Thanks for posting a starting point. I read up through his reply to Smokemaster. I've had dealings with Smokemaster and I can say he is a good guy.

I just can't let the following quote about Tatania's website slide......
"We've looked at your website this year and last year. It is so sad. It looks extremely boring and tired. Let us know if we can help you to add more excitement and creativity to your website. Penny and Joe" I am in my fifth year of heirloom addiction. I send tomato seeds with most of my Christmas cards and include a letter describing the varieties, giving seedling planting instructions and planting out suggestions. In every letter, I link to Tomatoville and Tatania's website for those choosing to learn more about heirloom tomatoes and growing such. "Boring and tired"??? Give me a break!!! I spend more time on those two sites than I do with my wife (for which she is thankful). I call them the old and new testaments of heirloom tomato growing. I would include the "Dead sea scrolls of Tomatoes" (Carolyn's book but I can't afford her $500 price) Actually, I don't come here for laughs, but that quote just totally cracked me up. I haven't laughed out loud that much since watching Stan Laurel in the old silent movies. Oh, BTW, I had never even heard of Penny or Joe till they started insulting those two websites. LOL. I guess they must be boring and tired. |

I wonder how many other website reviews(reviewers)are fake out there. Eventually since this awareness of the false claims, false reviews, doctored fake images will get into the hands of the right regulatory authority and something will get done to stop them from laughing on the way to the bank. I wonder how it feels to know that a lot of people out there know that the sites and owners are fakes, "snake oil salesmen" and a whole litany of other accusations posted on numerous forums. When I go to sleep at night I know when I wake up I am the same honest person with integrity and pride from the day before. Really sad to have a "stigma "attached to your identity for the rest of your life. As I said before "Once you peel back a onion the smellier it gets".

Dice, thank you for posting the link, it is very interesting (but also so disturbing and sad to read about fake review frauds).

i was gonna order some seeds from pepper joe but after doing my reserch i found a few places that sell the same seeds for 50 to 75% cheaper. i got some ghost pepper seeds from the sample seed shop for 2 bucks like 20 seeds. well at pepper joes he wants 8 bucks for 10 seeds. and last week i planted 6 seeds and 5 have sprouted. to me joe is just an over priced car salesman.................

There is no doubt that this has become a personal thread. Perhaps the involved parties should move this to a priviate arena?

Once upon a time, I actually had that same thought myself. However, I have done some thinking about the issue a lot, even if I only posted a couple times. When you boil it all down to its most basic issue, what is going on is a problem with unethical advertising. I haven't heard anyone yet complain of any other issues from them like their seeds don't grow...etc... Since the main issue is unethical advertising, which is by its very nature public, then anyone taking them to task for their unethical advertising must be public as well. So I changed my mind on the issue. At this point really what needs to happen in my honest opinion, Penny and Joe stop the unethical advertising and post a public apology. Once that happens, I would again agree with you. At that point you actually could let people handle it behind closed doors.

I must edit my post here, thanks to another TV member I was informed you joined three years before me. I did not notice the join date, only noticed that there was just one post here and it is on this thread.
