So it looks like TSWV is almost a dead ringer for black mold, except it starts at the top of the plant.

Yes, exactly. I really have little choice, except to compromise the rest of the garden. My plants are in pretty close proximity. A little too close. I am especially bummed because Olive Hill has gotten such good reviews for flavor, and I'll never see a large one ripe. I already have another Rebel Yell and DLH.

it's subtle sometimes, they lag, curl, and then hyena up.

Spinosad to bring down the thrips numbers. hoverflies are your helpers.

I just pulled another plant with TSWV. That brings the total up to 7 out of 80 or more plants set out this season. At this rate it will be one of my lowest TSWV seasons in years. Knock on wood.

Another year over and TSWV has wiped out all my tomato plants

That sucks. You can prevent it with a good bit of effort. Using a combo of Surround WP and Nu film 17 will keep insects from feeding. The hard part is keeping the plants covered, especially during frequent rains. The good thing about surround is you can mix it with a fungicide giving you the ability to only spray once for dual applications. You could get an analysis of the leaf tissue so you'll know 100% what your issues are. I wish you luck!

Pulled another plant so that brings me up to nearly 10% lost to TSWV so far. I still have more to plant.

Pulled my first TSWV plant today. The plants around it look fine.

Sticky traps will surround the field tomorrow.
