The Apples and Oranges formula is also good for most things but TTF is amazing with tomatoes. My peppers are doing good with it also this year.

3 cups of diluted? So 24oz diluted every 3 days? Sounds about right. Might be on the low side if the plants are loading up. One nice thing about it is you do tend to see a response fairly quickly. |

Correct, diluted. I was only doing 1 cup via the top and it didnt seem to do much. After 2 feedings with increased dosage in the reservoir I am seeing a bit of new growth and the percentage of flowers to fruit increasing!

It is not possible to say what your total concentration level is without knowing the total volume of water being added. It looks like you are adding 24/132 (3/17th)of 1.5 tbls of TTF every 3 days, right? That seems to be low to me. I've been adding 2 tbls every other refill to an earthtainer the last month or so since the plants have been very large and very loaded with tomatoes. I expect a refill for me is in the neighborhood of 4 gallons of water give or take. Earlier in the year, I was adding that amount every 3rd feeding. The plants have been super productive and growth outstanding, so that is a sweet spot for me, for whatever that's worth.

The Urban Farmer people don't seem to be lurking around here anymore, so I will throw this query out to the forum...I do not have anything setting fruit yet, although ALL of my plants are very healthy. I have been using their Vegetable Fertilizer on all plants...tomatoes, peppers, squash, beans, watermelons, and cucumbers. Does anyone think that I should be using TTF on plants BEFORE fruit set, or should I wait until I see actual fruit? Some blossoms are starting to open on the 'maters, but those plants are in a distinct minority.

I don't think it matters too much. If you have TTF, go ahead and switch. Some people have shown excellent results using TTF from transplant to harvest.

Based on Dwayne's response I have moved to 4 cups per plant on the last 2 feedings and I am seeing increased growth and fruit production.

Wasn't aware of that...but does that apply to all veggies, or just tomatoes? I KNOW for a fact that TTF works like a charm on 'maters...I was just wondering about other vegetables.

I sent that post directly to their company, and they responded within a half-hour...that level of excellent customer service is difficult to find anywhere nowadays.

I switch to TTF as soon as I see the first flower clusters forming. It makes a huge difference in fruit set.

They told me to switch to Texas Tomato food now, since I was so far north. Nothing wrong with a little phosphorus 'push' this far north this time of the season. Ergo; it will be Texas Tomato food until the gardening season is put to bed.

Hello All.....yes, we check TV several times/week. More often than not we will answer directly via PM or email. When this thread gets bumped to the top, we're more comfortable knowing that it is users that are doing the bumping. The last thing we want is a suspicion that we are engaged in excessive self-promotion. Satisfied gardeners are the best promotion anyway. As long as we do our job, the rest will take care of itself.
Having said that, we can't thank the folks on TV enough. You've been a great help, and we learn a lot from you. Many customers call and/or email us. We're on a first name basis with quite a few, not all from TV, but some, yes. We aren't a static company: we can't print too many labels at once because our formulas are open to change if we find a better result from a tweak. Right now TTF is pretty well dialed in, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved. We're always trying. Our fantasy idea of a perfect nutrient is something that someday leads to "breathtaking" results. When we see that look of "OMG" on someone's face.....then it's been a good day. We suggested to tnpeppers to switch now to TTF in order to nudge their plants into flowering mode. Being so far north, they have to get on with it. High N can delay flowering/fruiting. Better to have smaller plants with tomatoes on them than large plants running out of time before frost. The differences between Veg and TTF don't seem great, but at the ppm level they are significant enough. Thanks again for all the support. Our business from across the internet caught us by surprise, so there were times when our orders were running late. PM, post, call, or email anytime. Again, many thanks......
