Countless people have walked by this machine and never said anything to anyone.

I showed it to the GC and he investigated the tires to make sure it was still safe.
It is a 100 foot or so boom lift.
Cant imagine the thing stretched all the way out and a tire blow all at once.
I could do the math and how much the boom would suddenly move but dont feel like it.
Something like ten feet I think just of the top of my head.
The men are working right next to giant plate glass windows and if it did blow it could put them though a thick plate glass window.
They would be killed or hurt and anyone below them would be killed or hurt.

At work I am always thinking about chain of events that could cause death or injury for others and myself.
I look out for everyone no matter who or where they came from.
I have always been this way and the reason others and myself are alive today.

Went to a nursery today to pick up cold-proof annuals to replace the spent summer plants. Picked up some calendula, snapdragons, dianthus, and violas. They will bloom all winter and into spring. I took a photo of the bougainvilleas in their greenhouse. I thought it was a very cheerful sight. Also, as I drive down the road to get to the nursery the Gulf of Mexico (technically Galveston Bay) is to my right.

I love looking at the water. That is a very pretty and a calming space at this time of year. I imagine it is completely different in tourist season. Here we have weeds and just a few ratty green leaves hanging on but mostly plants are brown and done for or in a puddle on the ground, no blooms of any kind. About two weeks ago there was a solitary dandelion near a well deceased flower bed, and a moth came visiting. I didn't have my cell phone handy but it is clear as day in my mind, the way things used to be.

Here the weather is changing drastically, from 60 to snow and back to 60. I don't remember any other year with these late season swings. The lakes iced over and now they are running again. I saw swans sitting in a flooded field for the first. They were in a flooded field due to the high water table from reservoir releases hundreds of miles north by the Army Corps. This was in November in Nebraska. Very unexpected as I was driving into town for fast food!

I think looking at the vastness of the sea is very calming also.

Looking at that horizon makes it seem endless.
I often see the ocean but there is always an island in sight on this side of the island.


Went with a friend last week to get some seaweed for the garden. Not huge piles that day but enough.


Roland came too and filled his nostrils with new smells on the beach.

Roland is a cutie. He may be small in stature but he has a grand name.

Roland is as sweet as he is cute. He thinks that cute is one of his names because he hears it so much when we go out. His job in life is to make people smile and give him love. AKA Rosie because of his cheerful disposition, he literally would not hurt a fly. He makes me smile every day, and is someone to be thankful for!
