Default Don't forget the elves!

You leave cookies for Santa, but what about his helpers? Don't forget to leave donuts for the elves.

(Actually Cheerios).

Default Raw oyster season here

Love these!! But you can't eat them if the water is too warm, so you eat them in late fall/winter and until about April.

Those are huge! Are they gulf coast oyster?

They used to have a lot of oyster bars in Houston. You sat at the bar with your beer and downed a couple of dozen oysters. I don't know if they still exist. You probably must go to a full service restaurant to order a dozen on the half shell.

I ordered oysters for my family at a fine restaurant in New Orleans. Our kids were still young. They tried them and started gagging and couldn't swallow them. I had a lot of oysters to eat that night.

Those look good. I think I remember an old saying about eating oysters in months that have an R in their name. That would fit.

Most of the oysters eaten in Texas are from Galveston Bay, and most of the oysters eaten on the east and west coast of the United States are from Texas.

These were local. For some reason my husband always asks the waiter where the oysters came from. Yes, Dawg, there is a saying around here that says you eat raw oysters during months that have an R in them. However, eating them in September is a no-no for me.... the waters are still too warm.

Hurricanes can damage oyster beds.

At least it's a quiet albino reindeer.
My neighbour's display is blowup images of Christmas characters which is fine and dandy but there's a constant hissing.

Been many years since I had a good oyster.

The reindeer is just up the street.
Every holiday is a decorating extravaganza with them.

The inflatables are across the street.
