Both bcday and I have found some errors and I called Linda today to let her know about them. She laughed a lot when I told her that the price of Todd County Amish seeds were $30.

So in reading thru if you find any errors please post them here and if they've already been noted I'll say so and for any new ones I'll pass on the info to Linda who will pass on the info to her Webmaster.

She said that folks should soon be getting their catalogs b'c they're sent third class so it does take a while. And she said any errors of course can't be fixed re the print catalog until next year.

I noticed they listed New Big Dwarf as a determinate variety. I was under the impression it produced all season.

It is a determinate.

There's not a perfect correlation between a variety being determinate and having a concentrated set of fruits vs those determinates that produce most of the season.

Hmm. Well then I'm glad I didn't put NBD on my list for 2008 then because I though it behaved as an indeterminate in a dwarf body.

Something here made me think that but I guess that's not really the case.

Is anyone but me having trouble using the "search" feature in the new TGS on line catalog? I've tried several ways and it can't locate varieties that I know are there. It doesn't seem to show up results on any search I do. Or maybe it is just me.

Above the box where you type in what you want to search for, does it say catalog #? If you are trying to look for a name, click on the little blue square and select name or all fields from the drop-down menu. Not sure what you mean by tried several ways, but this turned out to be why the search feature didn't work for me.

Linda also said that not everything is done at the website and gave large quantity seed amounts as one example.

So maybe the search feature is another example.

As I've said many times here and elsewhere, give me a catalog to curl up with b'c sitting and looking at a screen just doesn't do it for me.

If the search feature doesn't shape up in the next week and if others are also having problems with it I'd be glad to tell Linda about that as well.

Carolyn, the search feature works. It's just that it defaults to search by catalog #, and people don't notice that. Once you change the menu selection to search by name, you can type in Kosovo and it will find it.

I think TGS should change the default search to 'name' or 'all fields', or get rid of the menu altogether to make the search feature easier for people to use. Who searches by catalog # anyway? We don't post comments saying this or that catalog # is a great tomato, LOL.

Just means you start a second set of seeds in June.

Or swap in a pepper plant or something.

That sort of happens anyway Feldon because once my plants get TSWV, I pull them out and pop new ones in their place.

I'll just stick with the indeterminates. Thanks, guys!
