I guess I never realized my husband had a green thumb...

here I am coming back home from my 2 weeks business trip, worrying about how my tomato seedlings are doing under my husband loving care...

...and wow, they grew! and I've got some flowers... and 3 baby fruits. Amazing how quickly they grow when I am not watching them every 15 minutes

Chibikko:

Tumbler F3 (Red Grape): de-hyb project

fruit (earliest I've seen so far - 50 days from germination):

I can't believe this is 6 weeks old seedling :

Another flower:

fruit setting:

and here are a couple of dwarf discoveries - Nevsky, and Polyarnie:

They are. Do you use Word and then seal 'em in plastic?

good idea. No, I didn't think about it... until you mentioned it

Btw, I have OP Tumbler (which I listed in my SASE offer), but it is much larger (~1'+ tall), and later fruiting. This new de-hyb project (F3 in the pictures above) is to get an earliest, grape cherry fruit, on compact plants - which seems to be working so far, but need further stabilizing

hello, tania

of the cute little tomato plants displayed in this thread, which variety ended up being the prettiest plant with the prettiest, best tasting fruit ?

and of all of the cute little tomato varieties you have tested to date, which is your all time favorite ?

thank you,

Tania,

I would love to know the size of the containers you are growing these in.

Thanks,

Bret

Bret,

most of these are growing in 1 litre container, except Mohamed which is growing in a smaller pot.

actually, the best tasting fruit was not on the prettiest plant, it was on the ugliest plant . The best tasting compact tomato so far is on of the pink cherry F3 lines from Tumbler hybrid.

Chibikko is rather bland, Hahms Gelbe and Mohamed are just OK taste.

Star, I have no such thing as all time favorite among mini dwarves - I am still looking for a great tasting tomato on a mini (<6" tall) plant, and as I mentioned above one of the Tumbler de-hyb lines is very promising 8)

Okay, so how does one get some of these seeds for mini-tomato plants?
