Planted some of Craig's seeds a few days ago what a fascinating mix - same with the Capsicums - it will be interesting to see what eventuates. I wasn't going do much Eggplanting but who could resist!

I had only Listada di Gandia in but now I'm inspired and will be growing a few more - Little Fingers, Ping Tung Long, Snowy and Violetta Lunga are now in seed trays.
I wish I hadn't visited this thread!

Well, since Sue and I haven't found our way to Australia yet for a vacation, we figured that if we sent plenty of our children over there, it will have to do! We are pondering a trip over there soon...maybe next year! What do you think - a Tomatoville garden hop?

A concerned Papa here wondering how his babies are doing...to anyone who is growing out seeds from the odd assortment of eggplant that I sent to Patrina - how are the little fellas doing???

I ran out of space so only planted Zebra ( I think). I still have seeds. 4 Zebra being grown out at a friend's place where it's a bit warmer and less exposed.

On the boat, but I have about 10 of your eggies growing at home. They're only small at this stage.

Grub, you'd be proud of me. My eggplant trough is doing really well. The plants are growing like mad and have started flowering. Let's hope they'll also produce some nice fruit. Can't wait to throw them on the barbie.

My round up as the season ends:

I grew five varieties this season - de Barbentane, Louisiana Long Green, Pingtung Long, Snowy, and Violetta Lunga. I had a shocking year with a serious green vegetable bug infestation that all but destroyed the later ripening varieties. I did however get lots of LLG. It's a great eggplant being both early, at least it was for me, and very productive. Two plants produced a lot more eggplants than I could possibly eat. I got just a few Pingtung Longs. They were excellent. The other three failed miserably as the dreaded GVB seemed to love them almost as much as they loved my tomatoes!

LLG will definitely be back.
