I am growing Suyo Japanese long for few years now. My family likes them as well.
Weather by us is creasy as well. Besides fungus we are getting too many bugs of different types.

Just a few single tomato shots, 2 tomato plants that are still looking pretty good (Beefsteak and an unkown potato leaf variety), a shot of some Chocolate Habaneros
that I hope will ripen all the way before fall.

I tilled a little of the garden today to spruce it up and get it ready for some fall stuff next week.

We dry them, grind them and turn them to powder coarse or fine after removing the seeds that way you get a higher quality (the fine) product were you can get about $85 a gallon zipper bag full if your so inclined.
My wife saves it and adds it to the Korean dishes she makes.
There should be some pic's somewhere around here. but here's last years cache again.

Nice machine there. You probably have lots of recipes, you and your wife can start a new thread. I had a friend while studying in university (back in Ukraine), she was korean. We were exposed to some great dishes, thanks to her. I would love to try some korean recipes or recipes with hot pepper.

Actually the machine belongs to the local Korean Market we used to grind our
pepper in our food processor but with the amount of peppers we grow now days it's more convenient to have them grind them (faster).
As for recipes my wife doesn't do recipes she just start slinging ingredients
and comes up some sought after Korean dishes around here even by the Korean folks, some examples cucumber and cabbage Kim Chi, Korean Hot pork (Tagi gogi), Korean short ribs called (Kalbi, Karbi, Galbi) I've seen it spelled all 3 ways. seems to be a interpitation issue there and a few other dishes.
And when I inquire about recipes she tells me I don't do recipes she goes by taste.

I searched for it and found a type similar to this. It's called Korte, it means Pear in Hungarian. http://www.kertirt.hu/webshop/img/p/2018-90-large.jpg
How big is it? A small one I guess.
