While it's not hard to get this particular kid to eat veggies, anything that he chooses (and hopefully grows himself) will certainly be eaten. We have a few other unusually-colored veggies either in ground now or planned. Lots of things come in purple! Purple sprouting broccoli is planned. There's a purple-podded pea, and cosmic purple carrots, of course. Purple pak choi is stunning (and tasty!)

After seeing pictures of your beautiful garden haul, I have the itchin to drop a few lettuce seeds in some seed starter mix this weekend.
The escarole is lovely. I have a packet around somewhere, but, it is not a large Italian variety. I have never grown that before, but am inspired to try it now. Ginny |
