Yes, I would think in your climate that you should be able to stagger the seed plantings to get multiple crops. Also, you should try a few different varieties to see what grows best, and what suits your taste. Send me a PM with your address and I will send you some of these to try:

I've grown Sugar Buns from Johnny's with excellent results. Also looking at Mirai which seems to get rave reviews. SB is 70 days and Mirai is 71 days. Ami

I planted around 1 1/2 inches. Nice warm up the past couple of days so I will give it another few days before giving up on it and resowing. Of course if I do resow, I will need to dig up the old seeds since I plan on sowing a different variety if need be. Still doesnt guarantee a mixup if the old seeds somehow still germinate. Oh well, |

Duane,
I also followed the instructions on the corn seed pack to plant 1.5" deep. I got concerned that after 15 days nothing was showing. I (dumbly) re-seeded last week planting only 1/2" deep. Guess what, BOTH sets of seeds are now poking up and today, I went around the 2 'Tainers and pulled up the most recently planted seedlings (a waste of 30 seeds). What I have learned is that seeds should be planted at a depth of two-times the diameter of the seed. Thus, in the case of corn, the ideal planting depth is approximately 1/2". Duane, I would be patient and give them another week to show their heads. But for future crops, i would suggest you plant at 1/2" depth. Ray |

Despite the days of 40's and torrential rains, it looks like my corn is sprouting after about 6 days. I did pre-soak. Whether I get enough plants to get a proper stand of corn, I won't know for another week yet.

Today is the 8th day so I guess I still have plenty of time for these to pop up. Wait until the 14 day mark before I think of resowing. Glad to hear yours are sprouting Morgan

A bit of hand pollinating can help. Gary |

I dug one up yesterday and it still looked viable, probably fixing to sprout. Today I found 3 poking their heads when I got home. So I guess there is still hope
