I was snooping around on the internet for info on beets and found this thread. I also have some pretty large beets to harvest in my garden. I'm curious how well they have survived all the freezing weather we have experienced this winter.

I was searching for info on Mangel beets. They grow to about twenty lbs. in size and are commonly used as animal fodder and are often used for hanging in chicken runs. Chickens seem to love them. Anyone on this forum ever grow Mangel beets?

never did but i think i saw them in the shumway catalog if you are looking for a source.
